#ELC2016 - EMERGING LEADERS CONFERENCE 2016 -

THE TRIGGER FOR NIGERIA’S ECONOMIC BOOM: THE EMERGING LEADERS CONFERENCE LAGOS

Every year since 2011, thousands of young Nigerians who are making a difference in their different life and career endeavours converge to chart a new course for Nigeria’s development. They take the lead and contribute towards finding answers to burning questions that young Nigerians need to get ahead. The Emerging Leaders Conference hosted by the Guardians of the Nation International (GOTNI) has become an economic and leadership convocation where issues concerning
the role of youths in nation building are discussed and action plans carried out.

Many award winning individuals and organisations have been part of this conference in the last 6 years and this year is not an exception as the theme is relevant to the times that the nation is in. The need for “Self reinvention: The trigger for economic boom” is the major theme for this year’s Emerging Leaders Conference and together with great brands like Heritage bank, PUNCH Newspapers, Ford Foundation and Channels TV as well as the NYSC, the conference expects 1, 000 young influencers and emerging leaders who would have a revolutionised thought pattern to further affect the country and Africa for the better.
Venue for this phenomenal event is the Civic Centre, Ozumba Mbadiwe Street, Victoria Island Lagos and will take place on Friday October 21 to Saturday October 22, 2016.
Speakers include John Momoh, Ini Onuk, Wale Aboderin, Bishop David Oyedepo, Governor Peter Obi, Dele Momodu, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Adenike Adeyemi, Michael Adeojo, Muyiwa Afolabi, Dede Kadiri, Tunji Andrews and more.
It is sure a packed event that passes for a knowledge fair and impactful value adding to fix Nigeria’s economy one young mind at a time.
According to the concept note on the event website “… At a time like this- crossroads in our country, the conversation about recession often evokes fear, uncertainty and sometimes, outright panic. What does an economy recently heralded as the largest and most promising in Africa do? How does the nation confront these challenges and commence the journey towards recovery? Nigeria is currently in dire need of re-invention and only the citizens can kick start this journey. It is often said that some individuals have a high tendency of drifting into a state of depression or accepting defeat when faced with multiple, overwhelming challenges. During this time, they see success as far-fetched and lose the enthusiasm to lead meaningful and impactful lives. Others, however, refuse to give up, find a way to re-invent themselves after their bout with failure and get back to work to become major contributors to society even at a global level.”
Nigerian young people have never had it better, and will be charged to export their tech-savyness, business inspiration, entertainment value and manufacturing prowess to the world after this event.
Speaking to the Convener, Linus Okorie he had this to say “the time is ripe for the rise of genuine Nigerian brands and no better way than to self-evaluate, self-improve and reinvent for a personal enterprise boom that will have a ripple effect on the general economic eco-system.”
Nigeria is at the verge of birthing economic solutions and this event is the trigger for that boom.
Registration is at www.gotnielc.org and age criteria for participation is from 18-45 years of age.
This is powered by GOTNI…building outstanding leaders.
