This maiden edition awards will celebrate organizations and people that actively promote Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) as a cornerstone of elite business performance.
The awards are open to any Nigeria operating business, organisation, and alliance or individual in the public or private sector, with a workplace health and safety initiative that complies with one of the 14 categories.
Nominations for 2015 opens early April and shortlisted nominees will be announced in August 2015.
Through a formal verification process, organisations that have been nominated to have achieved excellence in their field of work by the introduction, development or improvement of health and safety standards, are recognised for their initiatives.
Finalists are formally recognised with winners announced at the 9ja SAFE Awards, Hall of Fame gala luncheon on September 04, 2015 in Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Victoria Island Lagos.
Winners will have their stories told and recorded in the first Nigeria Safety Book of Record and through Safety Record Newspaper, and the broader media and have the exclusive use of finalist and winner logos for building and promoting their brand to their stakeholders.
How nominees were chosen
Organizations / Individuals are nominated only by reputable safety stakeholders (Institutes, State commissions, Directorates, Ministries, etc.) who have been approached by the organizers to nominate worthy Organizations / Individuals for the award.
Thereafter, a committee using pre-determined criteria and scoring methods will carry out a verification exercise.
