THE EVENT
In this part of the world where creative work is yet to get to the centre-stage in relevance and recognition, there was a need for change. D21.5 is a group of forward thinking creatives with the purpose to connect, inspire and lead the design sphere of Africa to a point of global relevance.
“We are 60+ strategic designers and business creatives connected across Africa, with a continental takeover in view.”
Thus the dream to see this change come true, was kickstarted with our first meeting themed: Design in the 21.5 Century which took place on the 25th, July 2014, and had in attendance 18 persons, convened by Badejo Ademola. The key speaker was Yoloye Ayokunle a.k.a. (Yox-The- Professor) a leading Brand Identity Designer in Nigeria’s Capital City, Abuja.
Since then we have had several events on various subject matters that revolve around the creative business ranging frorm Logo Design to complete Brand Management , Still Photography to Animation, Network Building and Business Strategy Development and other design disciplines.
The theme for this year’s big and first truly international event is Global Competitor, and it holds on the 25th of July.
